Vietnam railways (Reunification Express Train) run these trains every day from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and back, the track is 1,726km or 1,070 miles long.
The North–South railway (Vietnamese: Đường sắt Bắc–Nam) is the principal railway line serving the country of Vietnam. It is a single-track metre gauge line connecting the capital Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh City in the south, for a total length of 1,726 km (1,072 mi). Trains travelling this line are referred to as the Reunification Express (referring to the Reunification of Vietnam), although no particular train carries this name officially. The line was established during French colonial rule, and was completed over a period of nearly forty years, from 1899 to 1936. As of 2005, there were 278 stations on the Vietnamese railway network, of which 191 were located along the North–South line.

SE1, SE2, SE3, SE4, SE5, SE6, SE7, SE8: These are the better trains, included air-conditioned soft sleepers (4-berth), air-conditioned hard sleepers (6-berth) and air-conditioned soft seats.

Hanoi central station (Vietnamese: Ga Hà Nội) is a major station of Vietnam Railways, serving as the terminus of 5 of 7 active routes in the national network, including the North–South railway (Reunification Express), the Hanoi–Lào Cai railway, the Hanoi–Haiphong Railway, the Hanoi–Đồng Đăng Railway, and the Hanoi–Quán Triều Railway. The station serves the capital city of Hanoi. The station is located at 120 Lê Duẩn Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hoan Kiem District in central Hanoi.
Hanoi station has two gates. The Main gate A is located at 120 Le Duan street, Hoan Kiem district , usually for South-bound train. And the Station Gate B located at Tran Quy Cap street, Hoan Kiem District, usually for North train like Hanoi-Sapa Train. Both Gates offer the waiting hall for passengers if they have a long time waiting for the train before departure time
