When traveling alone, as a solo traveller preparation is key. You may do your best to organize everything yourself, but going solo means you can’t bounce ideas off others to take the best route as possible. You need to choose your destinations smartly, and book accommodation well in advance or when you are a free bird? You don't! You need to share your exact itinerary with a trusted person on home soil (better safe than sorry). You need a safe place to keep your belongings - hiding your backpack up a tree isn’t good enough if you’re backpacking alone. 

Ho wever Vietnam is safe country for traveling, but we shouldn't invite the one who keep an eye on your belongings as solo travelers, I always say "don't behave like a tourist, most of the time your are okay"! And of course, this is the best thing, but this count for everyone - you absolutely must make sure travel insurance has you covered as you explore the big, wide world. But when all these “boring” technical aspects of your travel plan are done and dusted, you can focus on crafting lifetime memories that can only be experienced as a solo traveler. 

There are many different types of soloists too. Some like to keep to themselves, some live to mingle in hostels and local bars. But most people fall into the middle of the spectrum. Traveling alone, it can feel awkward, confronting and a little bit confusing as you roam new streets and interact as a single entity, without the backing of a tribe of friends to make you feel confident and safe. 

But at the end of the day, when you bump into those special, random souls - that little did you know would turn into bonds that last a lifetime - it all becomes worthwhile. Only the solo traveler
